1. ORGANIZERS
The contest, in its first edition, is promoted by Artglace (Confédération des Associations des Artisans Glaciers de la Communauté Européenne) and will take place from 15 February to 30 June 2021.
2. SUBJECT MATTER
The initiative is aimed at artisanal gelato makers who carry out their activities on the European territory with a dual purpose:
– greater promotion, through video images, of the “MANTECADO”: the official flavour of the 9th European Artisanal Gelato Day (Gelato Day), which this year is dedicated to Spain;
– the desire to remain united, despite the difficulties of the moment, to celebrate such an important event together.
3. MODALITIES’ PARTICIPATION
Participation is free of charge; each ice cream maker must send a video of a maximum duration of 90 seconds, concerning the preparation and presentation of the official flavor of the 9th "MANTECADO" Gelato Day.
For the preparation of "MANTECADO", only the ingredients provided for in the official recipe must be used, published and downloadable on the www.gelato-day.com website and on the Facebook page 24 March European Gelato Day.
The video must be sent within the deadlines established by these regulations (see point 5 – methods and terms of delivery of the video material).
Videos made in languages other than Italian and English must be accompanied by a specific written translation (Word or PDF) in the above languages, in order to allow a better and faster evaluation by the jury.
The members of the selection committee and their family members are excluded from the "competition", as well as all those who collaborate in various ways in the organization of the "competition".
Notwithstanding that participation in the contest is aimed at European artisan ice cream makers, videos from non-European countries will still be published and a certificate of participation will be issued.
4. VIDEO TECHNICAL FEATURES
Videos must be made in high definition (a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels is recommended), in MP4 format; All videos in a different format will not be published.
The videos, not related to the promotion of the official flavor of Gelato Day 2021 "MANTECADO", will not be published.
5. MODALITIES’ AND TERMS OF DELIVERY OF THE MATERIAL
Each participant will have to send their contact details in addition to the video to be contacted later.
The videos must be delivered online, through wetransfer.com or similar programs, to the e-mail address: artglace.eu@gmail.com.
Two participation windows will be available:
1st selection | To participate in the 1st selection, the video must be received by 6.00 pm on 8 March 2021.
2nd selection | To participate in the 2nd selection, videos can be sent from 9 March until 30 June 2021.
6. JURY
A technical jury is set up consisting of a minimum of three members chosen from among professionals and experts in the artisan ice cream supply chain.
The jury will express its judgment, with the scoring system from 1 to 10, evaluating the following parameters:
1) originality of the presentation;
2) video quality;
3) illustration of the production process of the "MANTECADO" flavour;
4) Aesthetics and decoration of the tray.
4) Aesthetics and decoration of the pan
In the event of a tie in the votes, the video with the shortest duration will be declared the winner.
For each of the two selections, a "winner" video will be chosen.
A third winning video will be selected based on the score achieved in the overall ranking.
The jury's decision is final.
7. REWARDS
The first three European gelato makers will be given a commemorative plaque and will be invited to participate, as guests of Artglace, in the celebration of the 10th Gelato Day, scheduled at the European Parliament in Strasbourg / Brussels in February/March 2022.
All gelato makers (European and non-European) will receive a certificate of participation (see point 8).
8. AWARD CEREMONY
The awards and certificates will be presented during the presentation ceremonies of the 10th Gelato Day, which will be held on:
1) MIG 2021
2) SIGEP 2022
9. MEMBERSHIP, IMAGE RIGHTS, PRIVACY
Given the tight deadlines, in order to proceed more quickly, the following is specified: the sending of the video will constitute a formal request for adhesion of the participants to the initiative, the acceptance of which will be subject to the opinion of Artglace which, having verified the relevance of the contents with these regulations, will publish the video through the channels referred to in point 10 below.
The information provided by the gelato makers in each video is acquired by the Organizer, who will be free to publish it before, during and after the Event.
The gelato makers irrevocably and exclusively assign to Artglace the right to use the videos and the information contained and/or attached therein, including the image, voice, name, declarations as well as any authorial and/or artistic contributions, amateur or not, and all related rights of economic exploitation (referred to in articles 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 18-bis of Law no. 633/1941 and subsequent amendments and additions).
Each participant declares and warrants that he/she is the exclusive owner of all rights, title and interest (including those of his/her family members or assistants involved in the video) of his/her image, signature, voice and portrait, life stories and biographical information, copyright, image and communication rights related to his/her name, nickname or pseudonym, image, portrait, voice, signature, photograph and other elements or attributes of your person, identity or personality (collectively, the "Property").
The ice cream maker who sees his video published undertakes to comply with the provisions of these Regulations and grants the Organizer, and any third parties involved in the realization of this initiative, the right to use the ownership of the video and/or information material.
10. PROMOTION/VISIBILITY, IMAGE RIGHTS, PRIVACY
All gelato makers who send a video, in line with these regulations, will have the opportunity to make themselves known and increase their notoriety through:
– publication of the video on the official website www.gelato-day.com;
– publication of the video on the official Facebook page 24 March European Gelato Day;
– publication of the link to the video on the Artglace page on the SIGEP platform;
– promotion through the Press Office of the event (press kit, press releases).
